Have your say on the proposed Wain’s Hill Lookout

May 14, 2019 | Front Page Feature, News

If you are driving from Mundubbera to Gayndah the back way (old road via riverbend), around 8km up the Gayndah Mundubbera Road you will find this view.

This lookout currently provides the last quality phone service until you come into Gayndah and is used as a stop for tourists from across Australia to take in our Naturally Beautiful North Burnett.

A new tourism project will see a shaded seating area, serviced wheelie bin and iconic “photo frame” installed at the site to improve the tourist experience. Council proposes to name the site “Wain’s Hill Lookout”, to recognise the Wain family who have owned and operated the land surrounding this lookout for generations.

We are keen to hear your thoughts on the naming and welcome any feedback. You can provide comment via our website, by phoning 1300 MYNBRC or emailing admin@northburnett.qld.gov.au.

Consultation closes Monday 10 June 2019.
