North Burnett Regional Council Library members have access to a variety of FREE resources to keep the whole family entertained, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, movie and music streaming services.

BorrowBox: eBooks and AudioBooks

BorrowBox is a popular resource with access to a variety of eBooks and Audiobooks from popular fiction, biographies along with stories for young adults and children. You can reserve or borrow up to 4 eAudiobooks and 4 eBooks at a time. View the range at: https://fe.bolindadigital.com/rlq

What do you need to access BorrowBox

  1. A valid NBRC Library membership, barcode and pin
  2. Email address
  3. Internet access
  4. A compatible device to read an eBook or listen to an AudioBook e.g. Computer, tablet or smartphone.

How to access BorrowBox

You can access BorrowBox on your computer or on your favourite device e.g. Ipad or tablet.

Computer

  1. Access BorrowBox in your web browser: https://fe.bolindadigital.com/rlq Compatible web browsers are: Internet Explorer, Edge, Firefox, Chrome and Safari
  2. Sign-in using your Library membership details: Barcode and PIN.
  3. First time users will need to register with their email address
  4. Search, Borrow, download and enjoy!

Device

  3. Sign in with your Library membership details: Barcode number and PIN.

Storybox Library: Stories for kids and families

                           You may have some special young people in your life that may be interested in eResources for kids. Story Box Library provides a vibrant, interactive experience via a diverse range of everyday Australian            storytellers.

Story Box Library is an engaging educational resource that inspires reading in kids of all ages, improving language and literacy skills along the way.

Story Box Library was created to:

  • engage children with stories and voices to make personal connections
  • deliver the precious experience of being read aloud to.

Who are the storytellers?

See and hear your favourite stories come to life read by mainly Australian and New Zealand authors and narrators. A range of actors, comedians, sports people, musicians, authors, illustrators, TV presenters, performers, students, grandparents, activist and educators – each sharing their unique voice.

Who is Story Box Library recommended for?

Story Box Library is a fantastic resource for pre-school through to upper primary years.

Are stories added regularly?

Yes – 30 to 40 carefully curated and engaging stories are added each year.

How to I access Story Box Library?

  • Story Box Library is accessible via a web browser on your computer or device. There is no app available for Story Box. Compatible web browsers include Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari.
  • Story Box Library offers live streaming of videos. Streaming means watching the video in ‘real-time’ instead of downloading a file to your computer and watching it later.

To access:

  1. Open a web browser and go to https://storyboxlibrary.com.au/libraries
  2. Select your Library as: State Library of Queensland
  3. Enter your NBRC Library barcode number
  4. Click login.
  5. Enjoy stories, short films and at-home activities

Kanopy - Stream movies online

                         Kanopy is an online movie streaming platform with more than 30,000 high quality independent and award winning movies and documentaries along with a dedicated children’s service – Kanopy for kids. There are movies for everyone from award-winning documentaries, rare and hard-to-find titles, film festival favourites, classic films, and world cinema. There is a wide array of foreign language films and material of cultural value. Many films available on Kanopy are difficult to access elsewhere, making this a fantastic resource for movie buffs and students. There is also an amazing range of courses, giving everyone the opportunity to learn a language or take lessons in cooking, psychology, photography, history, health and much more.

What do you need to stream movies?

  1. A valid NBRC Library membership and barcode
  2. Internet access
  3. Email account
  4. A compatible device i.e. computer, tablet or smartphone.
  5. Download the Kanopy app from your device APP store. The Kanopy app can also be downloaded on some Smart TV’s.

How many movies can I stream each month? 

  • Library members receive 10 play credit’s each month which will allow each member to play 10 films per month. Play credits reset on the day 1 of each month.
  • Once you press play on a film or TV show episode you will have 3 days to view it as many times as you like without using another play credit.
  • Kanopy for Kids: Children’s content is currently unlimited. 

How to access Kanopy?

Computer

First time users will need to create an account that is linked to your library membership.  To create an account:

  1. Access Kanopy in a web browser https://rlq.kanopy.com/
  2. Click Add Library card and enter your Library membership barcode
  3. Complete the registration form with your name, email address and password
  4. Access your email to verify your account (follow the instructions in the email from Kanopy)

 

How do I log into Kanopy on my computer:  

  1. Access Kanopy in a web browser https://rlq.kanopy.com/
  2. Click Login (top right hand corner of the screen)
  3. Enter your email and password that you used when you registered your account.
  4. Search, play and enjoy!

Device

 First time users will need to create an account that is linked to your library membership.  To create an account:   

  1. Download the Kanopy app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store for Android
  2. Select the ‘Get Started’ icon and then select the Find Library icon
  3. Search and select your local NBRC Library. For example:
  4. Complete the registration form with your name, email address and password.
  5. Access your email to verify your account.

 

How to log into Kanopy on your device: 

  1. Open the Kanopy app on your device
  2. Click Log in
  3. Enter your email and password that you used when you registered your account.
  4. Search, play and enjoy!
RBdigital - Magazines

  Get your magazine fix right here! RBdigital delivers Australian magazine titles directly to your computer or mobile device which you can read online or download for later.  There are magazines for all ages and interests including Better Homes and Gardens, Australian Geographic, Australian Photography, Camper Australia.

  1. Access RBdigital in a web browser https://www.rbdigital.com/slq/service/magazines
  2. Click ‘Create New Account’ on the top right corner of the page
  3. Enter your NBRC Library membership barcode number
  4. Complete the registration form with your name, email address and password
  5. Accept the Terms of Service and Privacy policy
  6. Access your email to verify your account (follow the instructions in the email from Kanopy)

 

How do I log into RBdigital on my computer:

 Access RBdigital in a web browser https://www.rbdigital.com/slq/service/magazines

  1. Click Login (top right hand corner of the screen)
  2. Enter your email and password that that you used when you registered your account.
  3. Click ‘Browse Magazines’ under the RBdigital image.
  4. Browse, checkout a magazine, read and enjoy!

 

Device

 First time users will need to create an account that is linked to your library membership.  To create an account: 

  1. Download the RBdigital app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store for Android
  2. Select “New to RB Digital? Register Now”
  3. Choose “Australia” from the list
  4. Select “Choose Library”, then start to type Queensland and tap State Library of Queensland.
  5. Select Create Account. Complete the registration form with your Library barcode, name, email address and password.
  6. Review and accept the terms and conditions of service and select ‘Register’.

 

How do I log into RBdigital on my device? 

  1. Open the RBdigital app on your device
  2. Click Log in
  3. Select your country as Australia, enter your email and password that you used to register your account.
