Aug 17, 2017 | Front Page Feature, News, Roads

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has advised that it will be undertaking pavement rehabilitation works on a 2.8km stretch of the Burnett Highway north of Holroyd Road, Booubyjan over the coming months.

These works will strengthen the existing pavement to help minimise pavement failures and associated maintenance costs, as well as provide a safer driving surface for motorists.

As part of the works, the road seal width will be increased by about 1.8 metres to achieve a total road width of 9.5 metres. Earthworks will be undertaken to flatten the batters on either side of the road and where batter flattening cannot be achieved, guardrail will be installed to improve motorist safety.

TMR will be clearing in the road reserve from Tuesday, 15 August 2017 in preparation for the roadworks scheduled to commence on Monday, 21 August 2017, weather permitting.

Works will be undertaken Monday to Friday between the hours of 6am and 6pm and will continue until mid-December 2017. Motorists are advised to allow additional travel time.
