Temporary Road Closure Extended – Kariboe Road, Cania

Residents are advised that due to unforeseen circumstances, the temporary closure of Kariboe Road, Cania has been extended through to February 2017.

The upgraded road, part of North Burnett Regional Council’s NDRRA program – betterment works, is expected to re-open mid February 2017, weather permitting. The road is currently closed to through traffic, with access provided for local traffic only. Road users are advised that an alternate route is available via Cania Road and the Burnett Highway during this time.

The works will include the realignment and elevation of road sections. The road closure will facilitate a more cost effective, quicker and safer project, and when complete, the upgraded road will provide greater flood resilience.

Motorists are requested to travel with extreme care and responsibility, to drive to the prevailing road conditions and to adhere to signage. Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks you for your patience whilst this work is in progress.
