Your sport, your future – Have your say today!

North Burnett Regional Council Mayor Rachel Chambers is pleased to present the final draft of the Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Strategic Plan 2018-2028 for community feedback.

Mayor Chambers advised that community engagement for the draft plan commenced in October 2017 when Council embarked on a project to plan for the advancement of sport and recreation facilities and activities over the next ten (10) years. The project, made possible through funding received from the Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing under the Sport and Recreation Planning Program, was delivered in partnership with South Burnett Regional Council, Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council and local sporting organisations.

“Council engaged specialist consultants, ROSS Planning, to assist with the development of the Plan to better understand how our communities engage in sport and recreational activities and our residents’ dreams and aspirations for the future,” Mayor Chambers said.

Residents, clubs, groups and organisations are invited to attend this final community feedback session to discuss the final draft of the plan.

“The Council’s deadlines with the State Government are drawing to an end and these sessions will be the last opportunity for community members to have their say,” Mayor Chambers concluded.

Sessions will be held from 6-7pm at the below venues / dates:

  • Mundubbera – Archer Park Club House – Tuesday, 30 Oct
  • Gayndah – Community Hall Supper Room – Wednesday, 31 Oct
  • Monto – Sports Field Club House – Thursday, 1 Nov
