Screens to Boost Digital Capability in Regions Libraries

Council was recently awarded a $30,000 Strategic Priorities Grant from State Library of Queensland to purchase six interactive touchscreen panels. The screens will be used to improve our Libraries capacity to function as a modern hub for community members to learn, explore and improve digital capabilities.  The panels are a tool to enrich educational outcomes of life-long learning, literacy, numeracy, communication and problem solving skills and we are excited to share them with our community!

There is an interactive touch screen panel located in each of our six Libraries which can be used by community members of all ages to explore a variety of educational games, digital drawing using the touchscreen features, browse the internet, search the online library catalogue and much more!

The panels will be utilised in library activities such as First 5 Forever, school holiday and Tech Savvy Seniors programs.  Next time you’re in your local library, why not spend some time exploring all that the touchscreen panels have to offer!
