Due to inconsistency of road names and rural addressing on former shire boundary roads, North Burnett Regional Council has resolved to re-name and re-number several roads across the region.

North Burnett Regional Council Mayor Cr Rachel Chambers explained that the amendments will alleviate any confusion for residents and Emergency Services and ensure consistency of road addresses throughout the North Burnett.

“The first stage of this project commenced in November 2014 and remains ongoing,” Mayor Chambers said.

Continuing this project, the following road has now been re-named:

  • Back Creek Road (former Gayndah Shire) and Fowlers Road (former Biggenden Shire) are now known as Fowlers Road for the entire length.

Property owners on affected roads will be notified regarding any changes.
