Growing up in regional South Australia, on the Nullarbor Plain and just south of the Birdsville Track Chief Executive Officer, Rachel Cooper is innately aware that rural communities are all about people.
Ms Cooper’s career has spanned Federal, State and Local Government, various CEO positions including for the Institute for Public Administration (VIC) which is an organisation of 230,000 members and has proven results in creating and managing teams, project management and economic development..
Leaving the cooler southern climates for the warmer seasons of the North Burnett, Ms Cooper has settled in nicely to our great community and enjoys fishing the local watering holes with her family.
General Manager Corporate and Community
Mr Klein joined the North Burnett Regional Council as General Manager of Corporate and Community in January 2020 bringing with him extensive experience in Local Government spanning 20 years. His vision is to assist the Council to become financially sustainable, to facilitate the development of the capacity of the community to be more resilient and manage change.
Mr Klein says he is passionate about Local Government and believes that “I can make a positive difference to community in which I work, the organisation for which I work and the people with whom I work”.
Mr Klein, like Council’s CEO is a keen fisherman and was drawn to the North Burnett for its’ natural beauty and friendly community.
General Manager Works
Mr Percy comes to the North Burnett Regional Council with extensive experience in leadership and planning with seven years working in local government for Toowoomba Regional Council and Western Downs Regional Council.
In the private sector Mr Percy has worked as a Project Manager, Project Superintendent and company General Manager being involved in many large civil construction projects at local and state government levels.
As Council’s new General Manager for Works he has hit the ground running and is already proving his capabilities.
