Jul 20, 2018 | Front Page Feature, News

Saturday, 21 July 2018 commencing 11am.

Works of Aboriginal artists Michael Collins and Lionel Cubby will feature at the RM Williams Australian Bush Learning Centre’s newest exhibition opening this weekend.

The exhibition is dedicated to all women, and is inspired by the 2018 NAIDOC theme, ‘Because of her, we can’, recognising the active and significant role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women have played in our communities, families, history and nation.

Authentic aboriginal artworks featuring didgeridoos, clap sticks, bull roarers, hunting boomerangs, returning boomerangs, coolamons, shields and paintings will be on display.

A special viewing of Lillian Garrett’s short interviews, showcasing some of Eidsvold’s special women and their stories under the theme ‘Because of Her, We Can.’, will show in the main gallery from 12pm.

The exhibition will run from Saturday, 21 July through to Friday, 14 September 2018.
