The North Burnett region is located four hours north of Brisbane and one hour west of Bundaberg. With a population of 11,000 primarily centred in 6 key townships, the region’s 20,000 sq km is home to a rich and diverse range of primary industry, particularly agriculture, and a rapidly growing focus on mining and tourism.

 

Reporting to the CEO who is passionate about ethical and transparent decision making, Council is currently looking to develop its key management resources with the calibre of professional who can provide the expert insight and direction to ensure Council continues to meet all legislative compliance requirements across whole of business.

 

You will manage planning and implementation across a broad portfolio of governance-related activities, including risk management, insurance, local laws review, statutory reporting, and policy framework and governance systems.

 

Tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline with additional accreditations in risk management, quality systems or business management, you have an excellent track record within a similar Government focused role. Specific experience of managing large scale, complex projects with an emphasis on policy development, risk management, governance structure and frameworks. Excellent communications skills will allow you to quickly build productive working relationships built on collaboration.
