Cost savings to be delivered through W4Q solar project

Round 2 of the State Government’s ‘Works for Queensland’ (W4Q) program will see significant cost savings to Council with the commencement of the ‘NBRC Solar Project’.

W4Q funding, to assist regional councils to help stimulate growth and improve minor infrastructure across regional Queensland, includes funding to implement supplementary solar power to Council’s high power usage facilities such as swimming pools and water treatment plants.

Stage one of the project will see solar panels installed at the following facilities:

EidsvoldRM Williams Australian Bush Learning Centre;

Gayndah – North Burnett Regional Council Administration Office;

Mundubbera – Wastewater Treatment Plant and swimming pool.

Works are scheduled to commence at the RM Williams Australian Bush Learning Centre and Mundubbera pool next week.
