Mar 31, 2017 | Cyclone Debbie, Front Page Feature, News

Public Information Announcement 12 (1400 hrs)

With clear weather reported at all centres, as at 2pm this afternoon the Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) based at the Local Disaster Management Coordination Centre in Gayndah has moved to return to ‘Lean Forward’ status.

North Burnett Regional Council Mayor / LDMG Chair Cr Rachel Chambers advised that it was with a great sense of relief that the Local Disaster Management Group had downgraded their status.

“With the information given to us through regional situational reports and a final fly over, we are confident that our people are safe, the river levels are stable and roads conditions and infrastructure are being managed as the water recedes,” Mayor Chambers said.

Mayor Chambers would like to reassure all residents that the LDMG will continue to work with relevant agencies and local support groups to monitor the situation in all towns and provide assistance to affected residents where needed.

Residents are reminded that should they come across any Council infrastructure issues as the water recedes, to please take a photo and then alert council by calling 1300 696 272 (1300 MY NBRC) or emailing admin@northburnett.qld.gov.au.

For any emergency issues please call triple zero (000) or for non-life threatening assistance call the SES on 132 500.

The next update is expected at 1000 hrs Monday, 3 April 2017.
