2019 Queensland Reconciliation Awards now open

Jan 11, 2019 | Front Page Feature, News

Nominations close 5pm, Monday 25 February 2019

The 2019 Queensland Reconciliation Awards are open for nomination.

These Awards are a wonderful opportunity to recognise the commitments being made toward reconciliation in the North Burnett — by local businesses, organisations, government-owned corporations, and educational institutions.

This Awards program has a wide reach across Queensland and brings to light reconciliation initiatives and projects from major centres to some of the most remote communities that are strengthening our State culturally and economically.

The 2019 Queensland Reconciliation Awards is a great way to uncover and showcase reconciliation outcomes that may otherwise remain unknown.

Nominations will be accepted from Monday 7 January 2019 to Monday 25 February 2019, and are encouraged across four categories: business, education, community and partnership. The Premier’s Reconciliation Award will also be presented to a nominated initiative that has demonstrated innovative strategies and exceptional outcomes towards advancing reconciliation in Queensland.

North Burnett residents are encouraged to nominate an individual, community group, organisation or business.  Recipients will be announced at a ceremony during National Reconciliation Week from 27 May – 3 June 2019, with $5000 in prize money for the winner of each category.

For further information visit the Queensland Government website, email Events Coordination within the Department of the Premier and Cabinet at or telephone the department direct on (07) 3003 9200.
