North Burnett Regional Council is working actively with local farmers to ensure that the Government recognises the drought conditions in our local region.

Acting Mayor, Cr Faye Whelan has advised that local drought groups, comprising of local farmers and irrigators, have met and made a formal application to the Government for drought status. Council is now following through on these submissions to ensure that they are prioritised.

Council encourages land owners affected by poor seasonal conditions to access the Queensland Government’s website for further information on drought assistance or to complete an individually droughted property (IDP) declaration.

For further information on drought assistance see the Queensland Government’s website, or contact Council by phone on 1300 696 272 (1300 MY NBRC) or email.
