Temporary closure of The Bluff walking track and bush camping – Mt Walsh National Park

Nov 3, 2017 | Front Page Feature, News

The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) has advised that a wildfire is active in Mt Walsh National Park.

The park is temporarily closed to hiking and remote camping until the area is declared safe. The Bluff walking track is not safe to be accessed under any circumstance at this time.

QPWS is monitoring the fire and there is no threat to property at this time. QPWS has directed visitors to leave the affected section of park. Access to the area may be restricted.

Visitors may still access the Waterfall Creek (Utopia) Rock Pools.

Always observe fire restrictions in parks and forests, and report wildfires immediately to 000. Early reporting may avert a serious wildfire.

Visitors to Queensland national parks and State forests can keep up to date on conditions via Park Alerts at the National Parks, Spot and Racing website.

Information about QPWS fire management can be found at the National Parks, Spot and Racing website.
