Telecommunications

I seem to bang on about telecommunications a lot. Sometimes I wonder if people think it’s just because I’m young (41 is still young people!) and up with technology that I’m doing it as some kind of personal mission.

I admit, my life personally would benefit from improved telecommunications in many ways. It would allow me to work in between towns, to let my husband know when I’m leaving a remote visit and if I have trouble out on a rural road, that I will have telephone service to call for help… but it’s so much more than that!

Telecommunications is the first chance regional, rural and remote Australia has of playing on an equal playing field to our coastal friends. Like it or not, the world has opened up and we now compete on a global basis. Without telecommunications we are not in the game.
