North Burnett Regional Council Library Service has branches located in Biggenden, Eidsvold, Gayndah, Monto, Mount Perry and Mundubbera, providing residents with access to a wide range of resources.

Your library is a space for entertainment, discovery and imagination and is more than just books.  Services include:  

  • Library borrowing including books, DVD’s, audiobooks.
  • FREE computer access with internet
  • WiFi (fees and charges apply)
  • Emergent Literacy programs: Story Time for 0—5-year-olds
  • Digital Literacy programs including technology and computer support / assistance
  • Access to Ancestry.com for Family History searches (library only)
  • Printing/Scanning/Copying services (fees and charges apply)
  • A place to study, work and create.

 Rural Libraries Queensland (RLQ)

North Burnett Regional Council Libraries are part of the Rural Libraries Queensland (RLQ) network.  RLQ is a significant collaboration between local governments and State Library of Queensland to provide high quality public library services across rural Queensland.

The network is made up of 28 local councils supported by State Library of Queensland and we share a common catalogue of more than 300,000 titles including bestsellers, audiobooks, popular DVDs, magazine and electronic resources.

Bookclub Sets

Bookclub Sets Available For Loan

Bookclub sets are available for loan to established bookclub groups. Bookclub coordinators should contact their local library and register the group to access materials.

Currently there are active Book Clubs in Monto, Mount Perry and Mundubbera. If you wish to join one of the existing clubs please contact your preferred library branch.

LOTE Collection

LOTE Collection: Language other than English

Your Library has access to State Library of Queensland LOTE collection which comprises of 70,000 items covering 54 languages in various formats for example, fiction, nonfiction, large print, audio books, parallel texts and DVDs. Contact your local library for assistance.

Did you know that you can access Ancestry at your local North Burnett Library? Explore your family’s story. Only available from Library computers and it is free.

State Library of Queensland has a dedicated Family history service and there is a range of Family history resources and indexes to help you with your genealogical research.

Suggest items for purchase

Our Library members are encouraged to suggest items for purchase so that we can develop collections that respond to community need and interest.  Your suggestions are evaluated by State Library of Queensland for inclusion in the RLQ collection though need to be published within the last two years.

All library members are welcome to login to the online catalogue and suggest items for purchase via the Suggestion link.

There are many ways to get involved with your library:

  • Read a book, the latest gardening, food or home magazine or just relax in air-conditioned comfort while the kids play in our designated children’s area with something for all ages, which includes Wii games, logo and magnetics games, toys and colouring in at the tables provided just for little ones.
  • Try something new or rediscover an old passion
  • Join a bookclub
  • Suggest items for purchase
  • Make a suggestion on how we can improve the library service

Library Events

Weekdays Storytime sessions aim to foster a love of books and reading, as well as important listening and social skills. Suitable for children aged newborn to five years.

Your family can attend these free sessions @ your local library on the following days:

Biggenden – Tuesday 10am

Eidsvold – Tuesday 10am

Gayndah – Friday 10am

Monto – Tuesday 10am

Mount Perry – Thursday 10am

Mundubbera — Tuesday 10am

 

Computers, Internet & WiFi

Computers and Internet Access

Computers are available for use at your local library during opening hours. Our computer facilities are equipped with free Internet access, the Microsoft Office suite, a diverse range of online resources as well as printing facilities. Friendly staff are on hand to help get you started or to answer any questions you may have.

WiFi internet

 Free WiFi internet up to 1GB is available at all North Burnett Library branches.

Bring your phone, tablet, laptop, or ebook reader, and connect to our internet wirelessly. Friendly staff are on hand to help get you started or to answer any questions you may have.

Print, Copy & Scan

Printing, Photocopying and Scanning

All North Burnett Libraries have facilities to print in colour or black and white, scan to email, fax and photocopy.   Fees and charges apply.

Donations

Donations

Donation can be accepted if in excellent condition that meet the needs of our collection. All donations are carefully evaluated along with the need to add additional copies of titles that are already held in the collection. Donations are accepted on the clear understanding that we may dispose of those items at anytime. To donate a book you can fill in the online form here.
