Gayndah ‘Be There’ Suicide Prevention Training Day
Be There is a 1 Day Training Program developed by The Salvation Army, with funding provided by the Department of Health under the National Suicide Prevention Strategy.
This comprehensive one day program covers Suicide Prevention Training including;
• Statistics around suicide
• Who is at risk – what types of people?
• Risk and protective factors
• What to look for
• What to say
• What to do
• How to have the conversation
• Develop knowledge and skills for responding to people who are at risk
• Looking after yourself – self-care
Who should attend?
|The course is for people to gain knowledge of the signs of when people are at risk of suicide and how to get alongside them and support them. This can be for workers in any field including mental health. This could include Chaplains, school Chaplains, Counsellors, Health and Welfare workers, education professionals & support workers etc. Date: 20th April 2017
