Aerodromes

Council maintains a network of aerodromes throughout the region, including sealed runways at Monto and Gayndah.

There are no landing fees, and temporary tiedown space is available at each aerodrome.

CAUTION: Animal hazard exists. Aviation is an inherently dangerous activity and it is simply impossible to ensure that animals do not stray onto aerodromes. Current CASA Regulations and Orders do not place any obligation on aerodrome operators to ensure that animals are not able to access aerodrome land. Rather, the law imposes on the operator of an aircraft the responsibility of ensuring that, having regard to all the circumstances, the aircraft can take-off from or land at an aerodrome in safety. Accordingly, in the absence of any breach of an applicable law on Council's part. Council does not accept any liability for injury or damage that may be sustained if, in the course of your use of the aerodrome, your aircraft strikes an animal within the confines of the aerodrome.
