May 31, 2017 | Front Page Feature, News

Residents and visitors to the North Burnett Regional Council Mundubbera Customer Service Centre will soon see a change to the centre with the modernisation of the front counter scheduled for June.

Due to the scheduled refurbishment, the Mundubbera Library and Customer Service Centre (including QGAP and Centrelink) will be closed from 11:30am Thursday, 15th June 2017 whilst front counter operations are transferred to the Mundubbera Library. The Mundubbera Library will re-open on Friday 16th June and serve as a temporary customer service centre until refurbishment of the existing Customer Service Centre is complete.

All current library and administration services, including QGAP and Centrelink will be available from the Mundubbera library from Friday, 16th June through to Saturday, 24th June. Please note, QGAP and Centrelink services will not be available on Saturdays.

The revamped Customer Service Centre (including QGAP and Centrelink) will reopen from the newly refurbished facility on Monday, 26th June 2017, with community members invited to celebrate the re-opening from 10am.

North Burnett Regional Council Mayor Cr Rachel Chambers advised that this facility has not had a refurbishment since amalgamation.

“It is important to elected council that we provide not only safe work spaces but work spaces which make staff feel valued and happy to come to work each day. Many of our work spaces are in need of modernising and we are working on plans to improve these facilities right across the region. Mundubbera staff are the first cab off the rank as plans were already underway for this facility,” Mayor Chambers said.

“Modernising these facilities enables us to afford major improvements to our day to day operations and streamline the way we provide services to our community.”
