(30-03-17) Disruption to kerbside bin collection

Mar 30, 2017 | Cyclone Debbie, Front Page Feature, News

With heavy rainfall expected in the North Burnett region over the next few days, road conditions may be adversely affected which can restrict access for the rubbish truck in some areas, e.g. risk of the truck becoming bogged on dirt roads.

The driver will not carry out the scheduled bin collection if the road is too dangerous to travel on. If this affects your weekly bin service, please contact Council’s Environmental Health Team on 1300 696 272 (1300 MY NBRC) for other arrangements to have your bin emptied.

Rubbish collection contractor JJ Richards has advised that there are areas in the Monto region they are not able to access including the Monto Waste Management Facility. Missed collections will be picked up next week once things dry out. JJ Richards has advised that they intend to put a second truck on to assist with the collection backlog next week. Residents in the Wuruma Dam, Abercorn Road, Kalpower, Bukali Scrub Road and Bancroft areas are advised that rubbish bins in the area have not been collected.

The Monto Waste Management Facility will be closed today as the road into the facility (causeway) has been cut by water.

Report bin collection issues direct to JJ Richards & Sons garbage collection “hotline” by calling 1300 654 659. If your bin is not collected by the usual time please leave your bin out on the kerb as there may be a delay with the service.

Council would like to thank you for your co-operation in this matter and apologises for any inconvenience these delays may cause. Should you have any enquiries please call Council’s Environmental Health staff on 1300 696 272 (1300 MY NBRC).
